Tropical weather conditions in and around Gauteng

Good morning

(20 December 2021)

The tropical weather conditions in and around Gauteng and the Free State continue and with this unprecedented weather conditions in Gauteng the training and race preparations are falling behind daily, I cannot get much further than 60 to 70km’s as the weather changes very quickly. Today was another day with 100% cloud cover in the morning and some rain along flight path. After a lot of thought and looking at the long term weather conditions I have decide to move the race dates.

Hot spot 1 will be flown next week Wednesday (29 December ’21) or Thursday (30 December ’21).

Hot spot 2 will be flown on either Wednesday (5 January ’22) or Thursday (6 January ’22)

Hot spot 3 will be flown on either Friday (14 January ’22) or Saturday (15 January ’22)

Final race will be flown on either Friday (28 January ’22) or Saturday (29 January ’22)

The final race distance will be increased as well to go revert back to Springfontein (500km) rather than Trompsburg.

Thank you for your support and all the best to you and your family over the festive season that is upon us. It was not an easy decision but for the pigeons this is the best possible plan of action to get them prepared for a final race from 500km.
